Anydesk Mac To Windows Keyboard Not Working

I just bought a PC for the first time in a long (long) time and a Ducky One2 keyboard (Windows layout) to go with it. I ended up liking a mechanical keyboard more than I thought, so I wanted to use it with macOS as well.

Using the modifier key setting in macOS worked great for almost all apps except AnyDesk:

AnyDesk keyboard doesn’t work

AnyDesk can give you access complete through a remote device. That means you have access to that device’s screen, audio, and keyboard. But sometimes, the keyboard may stop working or the characters displayed may differ from what you are typing.

There are several reasons why the AnyDesk keyboard might refuse to work. These include:

How to Remotely Control a Windows PC with AnyDesk on iPhone

First, you need to download and install AnyDesk on the computer you want to establish a remote connection with. You will also need to install the AnyDesk app for iPhone and iPad from the App Store before beginning the procedure.

  1. Open AnyDesk on your Windows PC and make a note of your computer’s AnyDesk address located in the left pane. Now, click on the lines icon located in the upper right corner of the window and go to «Settings».
  2. Next, go to the «Security» section and check the «Enable unattended access» box as shown in the screenshot below. You will be prompted to set a preferred password.
  3. Now open the AnyDesk app on your iPhone or iPad.
  4. Enter the AnyDesk address of your computer and tap «Connect».
  5. Now, type the password you set on the desktop client and tap «Apply». Enable the option to sign in automatically from now on, to avoid having to enter the password every time you connect to your PC.
  6. This will establish the remote desktop connection. You can swipe from the left or right side of your screen when your device is in landscape mode to access the on-screen keyword for typing. To end the remote desktop session at any time, simply drag your finger to the «X» icon at the bottom after swiping left or right.

Check your Internet

We now recommend that you check and make sure that your Internet is working as expected. Start by making sure you can access popular websites. If you can access the websites, the next step is to check your internet speed. Slow speed or high ping can cause inconsistencies with your connection, which can cause problems with Anydesk. Use a speed test tool to check the speed of your internet connection.

If you notice an unstable connection or high ping in the above test, it is likely the reason for the problems with Anydesk. In such cases, you can try to reset your router or contact your network provider to troubleshoot your network. However, if everything seems to be working smoothly with your network, then you can proceed with the fixes below to fix Anydesk on your Windows 11 PC.

Other Common AnyDesk Problems

Users they also often report AnyDesk issues related to audio, mouse, and keyboard. First of all, these errors can be caused by incorrect software installation – try reinstalling AnyDesk. The reason may also be that the Windows PC does not start properly and you just need to restart your system. If that doesn’t work, go to the following steps:

Make sure «Stream audio output from this desktop» is enabled in your audio settings. Also, go to the «Security» > «Unattended Access» tab and «Remote User Permissions» sections and allow other users to listen to your computer’s sound output.
