What is AnyDesk?
AnyDesk is designed as a lightweight home office and remote assistance tool suitable for large or small businesses. It is intended to be useful for software vendors or application developers who are looking for a way to resolve customer or client issues remotely. It also allows users to connect from home to their office computers using the Unattended Access feature. Users get features like file transfer, remote printing, and session recording.
AnyDesk is designed for high performance and security. In terms of performance, AnyDesk users can expect frame rates of 60fps for most Internet connections, though the software is designed for low latency even at low bandwidth. AnyDesk also claims that its DeskRT codec feature, which compresses and transfers images, is unique among its competitors. For security, AnyDesk uses TLS 1.2 technology and RSA 2048 asymmetric key exchange encryption, and can whitelist trusted users.
Allow keyboard access
If AnyDesk’s keyboard isn’t working, the main reason may be that someone using the remote computer you’re trying to connect to has disabled access to their keyboard and mouse. Ask them to allow you access to the keyboard by following the steps below:
- Open AnyDesk and click the three horizontal lines in the upper right corner of the screen.
- Click «Settings».
- Select «Privacy» in the left sidebar.
- Check the «Control my device’s keyboard and mouse» option to complete the process.
Network problems
Users often complain about the following problems:
- Waiting for the image.
- This desktop is not available. Make sure AnyDesk is running on the remote computer and is connected to the Internet.
- AnyDesk is not connected to the server. Please check your internet connection.
