I just bought a PC for the first time in a long (long) time and a Ducky One2 keyboard (Windows layout) to go with it. I ended up liking a mechanical keyboard more than I thought, so I wanted to use it with macOS as well.
Using the modifier key setting on macOS worked great for almost all apps except AnyDesk:
How to right-click AnyDesk on mobile
When using AnyDesk, your mobile device screen will become a touchpad and act as your remote mouse. This is usually set by default for Android and iOS devices. To right-click, you’ll need to make sure you’re in «Touchpad Mode.» Follow these steps:
From your mobile device, launch AnyDesk.
Touch the logo on the right to access the circular menu.
Touch the first option in the menu (the wrench icon) to access «Session Settings».
Select the “Input” option.
Scroll down a bit to the «Touch Mode» section.
Make sure the «Touchpad Mode» checkbox is checked.
How to Remotely Control a Windows PC with AnyDesk on iPhone
First, you need to download and install AnyDesk on the computer you want to establish a remote connection with. You will also need to install the AnyDesk app for iPhone and iPad from the App Store before beginning the procedure.
Open AnyDesk on your Windows PC and make a note of your computer’s AnyDesk address located in the left pane. Now, click on the lines icon located in the upper right corner of the window and go to «Settings».
Next, go to the «Security» section and check the «Enable unattended access» box as shown in the screenshot below. You will be prompted to set a preferred password.
Now open the AnyDesk app on your iPhone or iPad.
Enter the AnyDesk address of your computer and tap «Connect».
Now, type the password you set on the desktop client and tap «Apply». Enable the option to sign in automatically from now on, to avoid having to enter the password every time you connect to your PC.
This will establish the remote desktop connection. You can swipe from the left or right side of your screen when your device is in landscape mode to access the on-screen keyword for typing. To end the remote desktop session at any time, simply drag your finger to the «X» icon at the bottom after swiping left or right.
These error messages are generated by Windows. They are usually caused by a misconfigured firewall. The firewall on both the local and remote sides should not interfere with the AnyDesk connection. Therefore, it may be necessary to modify the firewall to allow AnyDesk to make connections. In some cases, you may need to whitelist AnyDesk using *.net.anydesk.com.
